If you are old enough, probably you remember the good old times of having an MP3 collection in your computer. And the best player to listen to them was, without doubts WinAmp. And now, thanks to Jordan Eldredge, we can enjoy the program directly from our web browsers. Just head to http://winamp.aquicarattino.com/ to have an idea of how well it works.
Jordan has made it open source, and therefore anybody can check the code, improve, install, etc. It is so complete that you can even use different skins on the program. To add songs to the playlist, just drag them over (do you still keep Mp3 in your computer?). It is more of a piece of memorabilia that really reached my heart: It really whips the llama’s ass!
I really like the fact that it is based on Winamp2, the last great version available before its decline. If you are interested in the story of the software (and why younger people never heard of it) you can check the Wikipedia page. Surprisingly, Winamp can still be downloaded, there is even an Android version of it.
